THE RESEARCH, EXPLAINED

What the study says

A pooled analysis of two phase 3 trials examined ruxolitinib cream outcomes across baseline patient characteristics. Among participants who used active cream from the start, 50.3% reached at least 75% improvement in facial VASI at one year. Responses were observed across demographic and clinical subgroups, including different skin phototypes and disease durations. This helps describe the range of participants represented in the trials. Because these were descriptive subgroup analyses, they should not be used to guarantee equal benefit or predict an individual person's response.

How to interpret this finding

Descriptive, post hoc analysis. Subgroup comparisons do not establish equal treatment effects.

Research findings describe groups of participants. Discuss their relevance to your own care with your clinician.
